Welcome to The White House 

The White House, a historic property, is ideally located in the core district of Nantucket town. Adjacent to the lovely Jared Coffin garden, The White House is just minutes from Main Street, Steamboat Wharf, shops, restaurants, galleries, and the newly renovated and much acclaimed Whaling Museum. For over fifty years, The White House has been a favorite hostelry for Nantucket's guests. The first floor is home to one of the island's fine whaling antique shops where a resident scrimshander can be found carving actual whale bone as practiced in an era gone by.

The White House is reminiscent of Nantucket's proud history. The guest house is nicely appointed, meticulously clean but not so fancy that one loses the sense of what Nantucket is truly about. More luxurious inns do exist, but none offers a more affordable, conveniently located guest house than The White House. Children welcome.

A little jewel of a courtyard is provided behind the guest house for the exclusive use of The White House guests. Tables, chairs, and a professionally maintained flower garden offer the perfect place for early morning coffee or that late afternoon respite.
